In St. George's, the only point-to-point transport you can reliably hail is the island's fleet of licensed taxis. They queue at the cruise-ship terminal, the Carenage waterfront, the airport, and outside most larger hotels. Otherwise you can flag one on the street or ask your accommodation to call. Look for the "H" on the license plate and a small roof light, if the light is on, the cab is free. Trips are meter-free, so agree on the fare before you get in. Most drivers will quote a standard island rate. But you can still bargain politely. Receipts are rarely offered, so jot the agreed amount in your phone. For return rides, take the driver's mobile number, many are happy to come back and pick you up later.
